Bottom Stamp: China Yixing
Bottom Handwritten Signature: Wang Xiaolong / Created in Autumn, 1981 (Xin You Year)

This teapot features a flattened, rounded body with a cinched waistline, creating a rhythmic flow of lines that traverse the full, rounded form.

The shoulder of the teapot is decorated with carved “auspicious cloud” patterns using a sanded bottom carving technique, symbolizing good fortune and prosperity.

The lid is engraved with two traditional “Fu” (福) characters in different calligraphy styles, alongside two bats. In Chinese culture, bats are seen as symbols of good luck, as the word for “bat” (蝠) is pronounced the same as “fortune” (福). Thus, bats represent blessings, good fortune, and the realization of positive wishes.

The combination of four “Fu” characters signifies peace throughout the four seasons and blessings from all directions.
